Week 5 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl Projections

After a win over Ole Miss last weekend, Florida became one of the media favorites from the SEC to come to Orlando. Coincidentally, Ole Miss, who would be making its first Orlando appearance, was the other SEC favorite. For a second straight week Michigan is the most popular Big Ten pick.

Here are your week five projections for the 70th annual Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

Jerry Palm (CBSSports.com):  Michigan vs. Ole Miss

Jason Kirk (SBNation):  Michigan State vs. Ole Miss

Brian Bennett (ESPN Big Ten Blog): Iowa

David Ching (ESPN SEC Blog):  Florida

Mark Schlabach (ESPN):  Michigan vs. Florida

Brett McMurphy (ESPN):  Michigan vs. Florida

Pete Fiutak (Campus Insiders):  Wisconsin vs. Ole Miss

Brad Crawford (Saturday Down South): Michigan vs. Georgia

College Sports Madness: Wisconsin vs. Mississippi State

Bill Bender (Sporting News): Michigan vs. Georgia

For the Big Ten, not much has changed. The Michigan Wolverines are still the most frequent pick to make a return to Orlando with five out of nine media members picking them. Three members have the Wolverines playing Florida, who they played in the 2008 game, a 41-35 Michigan win in Lloyd Carr’s final game as head coach.

Jerry Palm, Jason Kirk and Pete Fiutak have Ole Miss coming to Orlando after its 38-10 loss to Florida last weekend. Ole Miss has never made an appearance in the Citrus Bowl. Neither has their in-state rival Mississippi State, who also made an appearance in this week’s projections.

Michigan State, Iowa and Wisconsin all were selected as well. Michigan State has made three appearances in Orlando with the most recent coming in 2011. Iowa has made just one appearance in Orlando coming in 2005 and it was memorable. And Wisconsin has made the most recent appearance in 2013.
